Terms of service

Unglued Academy and the Unglued store are run by Joshua Brown, trading as Unglued, in the United Kingdom. Contact: josh@unglued.co.uk. By creating an account, subscribing, buying a plugin or ordering merch, you agree to these terms.

What you get

A monthly subscription gives you access to every published lesson and any reference sheet or download published with it for as long as your subscription is active, plus new modules as they are released. The roadmap shows what is planned; release timing can change.

What you can't do

Project files and samples are licensed for use in your own music, including commercial releases. That licence does not include reselling them as sample packs or templates.

Plugin software licence

A plugin bought outright gives you a permanent, personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence for up to two computers that you control. Academy members and eligible 1-to-1 coaching clients receive the same personal licence for included plugins while their subscription and any stated offline grace period remain active. A free demo is supplied only for evaluation and keeps its timed pauses and other demo limits until a valid licence is activated.

You can use the plugin and the audio it produces in your own music, performances and commercial releases. Unglued claims no ownership of the music you make with it. The plugin, its code, interface, artwork, name and other intellectual property remain owned by Joshua Brown trading as Unglued and the relevant licensors.

You cannot share, publish, copy or redistribute the software or installer, except for a reasonable backup kept solely for your own use. You cannot share activation details or licence data, or sell, resell, sublicense, rent, lease, lend or transfer the software or licence. You cannot bypass or work around activation, demo limits, update verification or another technical protection.

You cannot reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or otherwise try to derive the source code or internal implementation, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits this despite this restriction. You can deactivate a computer from your account whenever you need to move a licence.

At checkout you can ask for plugins and other digital products to be supplied immediately. You must expressly acknowledge that once the download or licence access begins, the 14 day cancellation right for that digital content ends. This does not limit your rights if the product is faulty, unavailable or not as described. Where a free demo is offered, use it before buying to check compatibility with your system and host.

Any plugin update supplied by Unglued is governed by this licence unless that update clearly includes replacement terms. Your right to use the plugin ends if you materially breach this licence. If that happens, you must stop using it and remove the copies you control. Your statutory rights as a consumer remain unchanged.

DJ Edit Machine subscriptions

DJ Edit Machine includes open-source components, including FFmpeg libraries under the GNU Lesser General Public License, version 2.1 or later. The bundled third-party notices identify their respective licences. Those licences govern the covered components and take precedence over conflicting restrictions above, including restrictions on copying, modification and redistribution. Nothing in these terms prevents modification of LGPL-covered components or reverse engineering to debug those modifications as permitted by their licences. This does not grant rights to bypass the proprietary app's subscription checks.

DJ Edit Machine is a separate subscription. It does not include Academy lessons or other Unglued products. All its plans include the same editing tools, unlimited local processing and two activated computers you control. No processing credits or audio uploads are required. Optional future cloud services are not included. Use only audio you own or are authorised to process.

Standard billing is £8.99 each month or £79.99 each year, paid upfront and automatically renewed at that interval until cancelled. TITAN gives £1 off monthly payments or 10% off annual payments, including renewals while the discounted subscription remains active, currently £7.99 monthly or £71.99 annually. The amount, billing interval and any applicable tax are shown before you pay. Price changes require appropriate notice.

Cancel future renewals through Account, then Manage subscription, before the next billing date shown in Stripe. You keep access until your paid period ends. If account controls are unavailable, email josh@unglued.co.uk for help cancelling. Deleting the app does not cancel billing. Upfront annual payments are not monthly instalments.

Internet access is needed for activation and periodic subscription checks. A refreshed signed licence covers the paid subscription period plus 14 days of offline grace. A failed renewal has the same 14-day recovery window after the last paid period, not an additional window. Revoked activations and refunded or terminated subscriptions can lose access when checked online. Once access expires, new editing and export stop. Previously exported files remain usable, subject to your rights in their audio. Existing perpetual purchases retain their original licence.

App updates are included while subscribed. Check the listed operating system and hardware requirements before buying. Speed and separation quality depend on the computer and source audio; there is no promise of artifact-free stems or a guaranteed loudness target. This is an independent desktop app, not an official rekordbox extension. Nothing in these terms excludes statutory consumer rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Billing

Academy subscriptions bill monthly through Stripe until you cancel. DJ Edit Machine bills at the monthly or annual interval selected above. You can cancel any time from your account page and you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. At checkout you can request immediate digital access and acknowledge how that affects the 14 day cancellation right. See the refund policy for details.

Completed 1-to-1 coaching session recordings remain in your private account after coaching ends. Booking, the live Zoom room, Discord and included plugin access require active coaching or Academy access as applicable. Deleting your account permanently removes its private recording archive.

Merch orders

Merch is made after you order and normally takes 3 to 12 days worldwide depending on destination. Delivery timing can occasionally move for reasons outside my control. Prices and delivery charges are shown before you pay. Your cancellation, return and faulty-item rights are set out in the refunds and returns policy.

Ending accounts

Accounts that break these terms, most obviously by sharing content or logins, can be closed without refund.

The boring but honest bits

The content is education, not a guarantee of results, signings or income. The service is provided as is, and liability is limited to the amount you have paid in the last 12 months. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
